My newest hobby

Some time ago I fell in love with turned wood crochet hooks. I lusted for them to the point of distraction. My Daddy always told me that if you could read, you could learn to do anything. He was a man ahead of his time. He didn't think that women should be "protected" from learning things. I also have a loving husband who knows about power tools. With all that in mind, and the fact that I went on a power tool buying spree, AND that we finally bought a workshop....I ventured out into the back yard. The following are the first products of my newly started hobby.
The white is DuPont Corian. A countertop material and my 4th attempt at hook handles. It's amazing what's inside that stuff!
These are my first and third hooks. The larger is stained pine and the smaller is purple heart. Still drying from the finish.

This is my second hook attempt in zebrawood. Hubby forgot to put it someplace where sawdust wouldn't get to it and it got all sorts of flying debris in the finish. He says he's going to sand it out for me since it's "his fault".
